Center Competition
- West Kentucky Corporation and City of Park City Type: open Registration deadline: June 30, 2000 Submission deadline: August 31, 2000 Open to: All architects and planners Entry fee: US $90 Awards: First prize US$10,000 and right to negotiate contract for services Jury: Unannounced. The competition requires the design of a 50,000 - 60,000 square foot Visitor-Heritage Center reflecting the cultural heritage of the region with an awareness of nearby Mammoth Cave National Park and adjacent 31W Corridor. The center will be used as a tool to interpret and promote the historic corridor and the natural and cultural resources along the route. The center will include tourist information booths for surrounding areas as well as an information kiosk for Mammoth Cave, displays relating to Hwy 31W, displays of local artists and crafts,a theater auditorium; restrooms, office space and storage, and interpretive information on the heritage of the area.
