1 What is Vaastu?

Vaastu is a short form for " Vaastu Shastra". Vaastu Shastra is ancient Hindu Science dealing with building 3-dimensional structures, such as dwelling, temples, and city/ town planning.

2 How did Vaastu originate?

The primitive man, in his search for a happy, secure and comfortable living, could have understood the importance of water for survival. Observation of various effects while living in various direction with respect to water bodies, i.e. river, lakes, ponds etc., could have given birth to "Vaastu Shastra".

4 How does Vaastu operate?

The exact mechanism responsible for the working of Vaastu in Scientific parlance has not yet been understood although Vedic texts have their own sophisticated explanation through various stories which are said to have occurred in the past.

5 How should Vaastu be used to build a residence?

Construction of a building as per Vaastu starts with the selection of site, Choosing the right size of the house, placement of various room e.g., pooja room, bed room, kitchen, dining room, bath room, toilet, kennel etc., in their proper places, proper doors and windows etc.

6 What is the importance of an individual in Vaastu?

Firstly, measurements are done taking the hand length as the unit.

Secondly, the rasi ( or place of Moon at the time of birth) the lagna, ( the point in East at any given time and place on earth) which decides the ratio to length and breadth of the house , color to be painted etc.

7 What is the use of Vaastu?

Vaastu ensures happiness and peace of mind not to forget the health, wealth and property, by aligning different parts in a residence as per set rules and principles.

8 Can Vaastu alter the future?

Good or bad experiences we face are the result of causes

4) Present action

While we have no control over the first three factors. We can definitely exercise control by choice of free will on the fourth i.e. present actions-by either having a habitat designed or not designed as per Vaastu Thus , it is clear that although Vaastu   cannot completely alter the course of future it can definitely modify the same.

9 What is the influence of Vaastu on heredity?

As Vaastu is a concept working on a personal level it CANNOT have the same influence on the different generations, because the rasi , lagna and the physical features are sure to vary.

10 Will the effect of Vaastu be the same always?

As long as the feature in the neighbourhood do not change, it remains the same. Supposing a structure larger than own comes up in the East or North, we are sure to suffer.

11 How relevant is Vaastu in modern times?

Perhaps more than ever, since never before in the history of mankind, science and technology had progressed to present day levels leading to urbanisation, consequent change in a lifestyle, environment, health etc.
