Application And Specification

Where to Use – Residential or commercial applications where a quality flat finish is desired at an economical price. New or previously painted wallboard and masonry; primed or previously painted plaster and wood.

Thinner - Add 300ml to 350ml of water to 1 liter of the paint

Tools to Use – May be applied with a quality polyester or nylon brush or paint roller.

Recoat Interval – This paint dries to touch in about 1 hour. It takes longer time in high humidity or cool temperatures. Allow to dry for a minimum of 4 hours before recoating.

Coverage – One liter of this primer paint approximately covers 45sq.ft to 75sq.ft per coat on a rough surface, depending upon surface porosity. On smooth and puttied surfaces, this primer paint approximately covers 75sq.ft to 90sq.ft per coat. Depending upon surface porosity

Surface Prepration

Unpainted Surfaces

Plaster – Must be dry and cured for 30 days. Prime with DURAKOTE PROCARE Primer + Paint. Allow primer to dry for 24 hours.

Wallboard or drywall – Can be painted directly after all dust and loose particles are removed. For best results apply one coat of primer followed by two finish coats.

Previously painted surfaces

• Wash off dirt, grease, soap and oil with detergent and water. Rinse completely and allow it to dry.
• Remove all loose and flaking paint.
• Patch holes and cracks with DURAKOTE PROCARE Acrylic putty. Allow to dry.
• Sand patched areas smooth and clean the sanded area with a damp cloth. Spot prime the patched area with primer.
• Sand all smooth or glossy surface to remove shine. Clean the sanded area with a damp cloth.
